North-East state : Arunachal pradesh

Arunachal pradesh literally means land of dawn-lit mountains. carved as a full fledged state in 1987, the evolution and formation of arunachal is a testimony to the idea of federalism in modern india.

AP has a diverse culture and scenic beauty.It is an enthralling place and a perfect example of micro india representing the idea of unity in diversity.

AP is the largest state among the north-east states of india with 83,743 sq.km area.

AP is comparatively a new state. before it got its statehood on 20th feb,1987 it was a union territory for 15years since 1972. the name AP was first given then prior to that, it was known as the north east frontier agency and was under the direct control of min. of external affairs, gov. of india. AP is a border state of india. it shares international borders with 4 countries. bhutan in west, myanmar in the east, tibet and china in the north.  only assam and nagaland are its entry point to the rest of india.

The major rivers passing through the state include siang, kameng, dibang,tawang,dihing and tirap. There are only two season winter and rainy. 

The state is rich in mineral resources like dolomite,graphite,natural gas, limestone,coal,oil etc.

AP is a proof that the diversity can be experienced at all levels, including in the most north-east corner of the country.
